Certifications

Since 2003, Postech screw piles and accessories have been certified by the CCMC (Canadian Construction Materials Centre). The Postech team helps the CCMC define the quality standards governing the screw pile industry in Canada. We were also on the Technical Committee of industry members who helped update the most recent Technical Guide for screw piles in Canada.

All welded Postech products are certified to conform with CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) procedures. This certification attests that Postech Screw Piles meet or exceed structural requirements and comply with CSA standards.

Since 2021, Postech has held ICC-ES (International Code Council Evaluation Service) certification, allowing our products to be distributed in the U.S. ICC-ES certification is equivalent to the CCMC certification in Canada. To obtain and maintain this important certification, the manufacturer must demonstrate a high level of quality management and its products must undergo rigorous testing by a recognized specialized laboratory.

Basics of screw piles

Screw piles (also known as helical piles) work differently than other types of conventional foundations. Different factors need to be taken into consideration when creating a foundation with drilled or driven piles. Wondering how screw piles work? This article breaks it down in simple terms.

Importance of torque to capacity ratio

One of the biggest advantages of screw piles over other types of foundations is that you can confirm a screw pile’s bearing capacity in real time during installation. How? By using the ratio between the bearing capacity (Load) vs the tightening torque (Torque). This is one of the reasons why engineers and architects now prefer to design foundations built on screw piles for many of their projects.
